The bungalow is set at the sheen gate entrance of Richmond Park located just inside opposite the gate lodge. Set in its own secluded grounds the bungalow enjoys a spectacular position overlooking the park and surrounding areas.
The property had been allowed to fall into dis-repair over the years and we were very pleased to be asked to undertake a full refurbishment on behalf of the royal parks. The works included new bathroom and walk-in shower room, new kitchen, underfloor heating, complete re-wire and all new plumbing as well as plastering and decorations throughout. All of the materials used were high specification such as Porcelanosa floor and wall tiles and bathroom fittings, Magnet kitchen and custom built wardrobes.
The bungalow featured wood effect Porcelanosa floor tiling to run continuously through the rooms without any stops or junctions to give flow throughout the property. A limestone fireplace gives a good focal point to the lounge with a "living flame" gas fire to complete the effect and provide a warm cosy feel to the room. A number of original doors were obtained via an architectural salvage dealer to match the existing doors to retain the character of the rooms. Minor alterations were carried out including the creation of a walk-in shower room to the master suite and a new, larger kitchen window to give a light, airy feel to the kitchen and brighten up the space. All in all we were very happy with the end result as were our clients at the royal parks and we feel that this bears testament to our belief that although building is not our primary field of expertise, if the right professionals are brought in and correctly managed using a strong work ethic a high quality value for money outcome can be achieved.
